Over the weekend Apple shared a short list of HealthKit apps that work with the new Health app on iOS 8 after a few apps hit the App Store on Friday with HealthKit support included. Several more iPhone apps using HealthKit to share data with Apple’s Health app on iOS 8 have become available and more are anticipated from some big names shortly. We’ll continue to update the list below over the next few weeks with iPhone apps and accessories with HealthKit and Health support to give you a comprehensive list of apps that can put your Health app to better use.

Before we dive in, below is Apple’s description of its Health app on iOS 8:

The new Health app gives you an easy‑to‑read dashboard of your health and fitness data. And we’ve created a new tool for developers called HealthKit, which allows all the incredible health and fitness apps to work together, and work harder, for you. It just might be the beginning of a health revolution.

On the iPhone you can now share data from Apple’s new Health app directly with the doctor on Amwell. Share the data from connected devices, such as your blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, and more during a doctor visit.

AskMD (Free)

Integration with Apple’s new Health app to:

Synchronize your current health data, including age, biological sex, height, weight and blood pressure

The steps data in the app will now come from the Health app. This means that the steps data will be collected directly from your phone’s motion coprocessor or from any other wearable devices that are sending their steps data to the Health app.
