The iPhone 8 has a feature called “SmartCam” which detects when you’re trying to take a screenshot and will capture the image instead.
To take a screenshot on the iPhone 8, press and hold the lock button at the same time as the volume up button. The phone will make a sound and your screen will flash white.
To enable screenshots on your iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Assistive Touch. Enable “AssistiveTouch” and then tap the “Customize Top Level Menu” button. Select “Screenshot”.
You can find screenshots on your iPhone by going to the Photos app and scrolling down to the Screenshots album.
