There’s a new image making the rounds online purporting to be the Geekbench results of the upcoming iPhone 8. The image shows off the iPhone 8’s supposed speed bump in both single-core and multi-core scores. The single-core speeds show a jump of nearly 30%, and the multi-core by nearly 50%. While these lightning speeds are enough to make any soon-to-be-upgrader happy, they’re unfortunately fake. From the screenshot, we can see that the image is supposedly showing the results from a Geekbench 4....

Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently predicted that while iPhone sales will be down 15% year-on-year in calendar Q2, he is more optimistic about the second half of the year, expecting at least flat sales. UBS, however, disagrees, predicting depressed iPhone sales throughout 2019 and well into 2020 … In an analyst note seen by Business Insider, UBS analyst Timothy Acuri says the bad news is likely to continue until next year’s models are released....

The current ultra-wide lenses used by Apple are fixed-focus, which means that they cannot focus on a specific object. With autofocus, users will be able to adjust the lens to choose where they want to focus, just like with wide-angle and telephoto lenses. In addition to autofocus, the analyst also claimed that the ultra-wide lens on the iPhone 13 Pro will have six elements instead of five, which will likely result in better images and videos....

Apple just unveiled four new iPhone 14 models. What’s interesting with these releases is the fact that you can finally buy a bigger iPhone without having to pay extra for the Pro features. Ming Chi Kuo claims that Apple will go for glass enclosure and will completely get rid of aluminum casing, if Apple introduces same aluminum casing in iPhone coming in 2017, it may not look modern or new design. He further said that if iPhone 7 will sport aluminum casing in 2016, it will be fifth consecutive year for Apple to introduce same casing in iPhones. Kuo also predicted that the new iPhone may sport AMOLED display which will be lighter and stronger....

The Messages app in iOS 16 has a number of changes, most notably the ability to edit and unsend messages you may regret. Another hidden change is a new “Recently Deleted” folder that preserves messages you’ve deleted for 30 days. iOS 7 has taken top billing in Pfeiffer Consulting’s annual Mobile OS User Experience Benchmarks, scoring just over 73 percent against 57 percent for Android and 47 percent for Windows Phone. Yesterday saw a new Kuo report which said that Apple plans to release its first AR device at some point this year. While it didn’t go into any detail, the analyst has previously suggested we can expect to see iPhone-powered Apple Glasses, at least for the first-generation of the company’s move into augmented reality.
