During the new iPad unveiling yesterday, Apple announced it would drop the price of the 16GB iPad 2 to $399 with the Wi-Fi + 3G model discounted to $529. This was, of course, to make room for the new iPad, which would start at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and $629 for the 16GB Wi-Fi + 4G model. We knew the price drop would likely be implemented by the new iPad’s March 16 launch date, but it seems BestBuy and other retailers are already offering the new prices....

According to a new report by MacOtakara, the iPad Pro will represent a change over previous rumored specs. A list of publications including the Wall St. Journal and Bloomberg had pegged the display of the iPad Pro at 12.9-inches but today’s report says it is a smaller 12.2 inches (remarkably close to the rumored upcoming Retina MacBook Air). Kantar World Panel is reporting that Apple took 76% of total smartphone sales in Japan during October. This means Apple outsold other manufacturers by about 3:1 in the country. Update: This bug has now been fixed in iOS 16.1 beta channel. Some game developers are warning players not to update to iOS 16 due to a bug with the system three-finger gestures, affecting gameplay. The issue is that the triple-tap system gesture to reveal the undo/cut/copy/paste menu, and the three-finger swipe gestures to undo and redo, are a bit overzealous in iOS 16, activating in contexts where they shouldn’t....

For the first time, you can code, iterate and build apps on the iPad itself. Using Swift Playgrounds on iPadOS 15, customers will be able to create iPhone and iPad apps from scratch and then deploy them to the App Store. It remains to be seen how limited or not the development experience will be.
