AllThingsD reports that Apple has secured a deal with Sony to launch its long rumored iRadio service. You may recall Sony was the last major record label to secure as Apple had already signed deals with both Warner and Universal. We expect to see iRadio previewed at WWDC which kicks off Monday. WSJ previously reported that Apple will pay Warner 10% of ad revenue, which is about twice as much as Pandora contributes....

The feature takes the previously available custom gesture support to the next level and brings a new control panel. Earlier this year, multiple reports suggested that Apple is working on major upgrades to the iPhone 14’s front-facing camera. Now analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has corroborated those rumors with new details about the suppliers Apple has chosen for the selfie camera components, which will get its biggest upgrade in years with iPhone 14. Twitter has updated both iOS and Android apps with a Live button that starts a Periscope broadcast. It’s actually a bit of a cheat, though, as all the button does is open the Periscope app – or prompt you to download it if you don’t already have it installed. Following the announcement of Apple’s September 14 event, the company has added a new hashflag to Twitter. When you tweet the hashtag #AppleEvent, Twitter will display a mini version of the Apple logo depicted in the event’s invitation. This isn’t Apple’s first hashflag on Twitter – last year Apple used multiple different hashflags to promote their fall events. KGI‘s Ming-Chi Kuo is out with his latest iPhone sales numbers forecast which shows the iPhone 7 line falling in sales for the second consecutive year. The primary drivers are weak demand in China, slow shipment volume of 4.7” iPhones in 1Q17, and the lack of a new iPhone SE in 2Q17. We are conservative about the sell-through of the 4.7” iPhone and Apple’s market share in China. As such, we estimate 1Q17 iPhone shipment volume of 40-50mn units, lower than the 51....
Apple kept making the iPod Classic for much longer than many expected, but when it finally called time over lack of components there were still plenty of people who wanted one. The Guardian reports that some iPod Classics are now selling for up to four times the original price. I knew I should have held onto mine. I only sold my 160GB model earlier in the year, figuring that it was redundant with iTunes Match and unlimited LTE data, but must say that I agree with Stuff editor Will Dunn who described the Classic as “a more distraction-free listening experience” where you were “more likely to get through a full album”....
