Now that the iPhone Xs and Apple Watch Series 4 have officially been announced, we can dive deeper into the specifications of each, as well as the changes compared to the iPhone X and Apple Watch Series 3. For both the iPhone Xs and Apple Watch Series 4, Apple briefly mentioned battery life – but looking closer, there are a few changes worth noting. iPhone Xs: For the iPhone Xs, Apple says users will get 30 more minutes of battery life with this year’s device than with the 2017 iPhone X....

We were not given too many details of the device itself, which was evidently in the pocket of Gagan Arora, Director – Marketing, iQOO – during a briefing about the brand. However, we were told that it would be the first in the country to come with the Snapdragon 865 chip, 5G connectivity (yes, there is no 5G connectivity in the country but Arora says the feature makes the phone future proof, even as the brand talks to operators), and with best in class battery technology....

Iron Man fans petition for Marvel Studios to bring Tony Stark back to life after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Since the MCU kicked off in 2008, Tony has been the franchise’s poster boy; the original Iron Man film started the whole thing, and he quickly became (arguably) the most popular character. Update: A day after seeding iOS 15.6 beta 3 to developers, Apple is now releasing it to public testers as well. The same is worth for tvOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, watchOS 8.7, and macOS 12.5. Remember iOS 15.6? Well, beta 3 is now available to developers. This update comes 14 days after Apple seeded the second beta of this upcoming operating system to all public testers. The company is also making available the third beta of tvOS 15....

iOS hacker extraordinaire, Comex has done what he does best and has jailbroken Apple’s latest device. Comex has yet to say when the jailbreak will made public, and how it works, but we now at least know the iPad 2 is able to be jailbroken. Interestingly, Comex was able to jailbreak it remotely. Even better is that it looks like the 3G variants of the iPad 2 will have a jailbreak available, too, as Comex’s white iPad 2 is the Verizon version....

The forthcoming March 7 announcement of a third-generation iPad will (again) force third-party developers to update user interfaces with high-resolution graphic assets that will take advantage of the tablet’s substantial pixel density increase. Some developers took to Twitter to complain that Apple currently does not provide tools for them to test how apps will look on the iPad 3....

Counterpoint research has put together an estimate of the iPhone 12 component costs in a so-called Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis. It estimates that Apple’s total cost for materials for the US version of the middle-tier base model iPhone 12 is $431 – 26% up on the iPhone 11. The company provided a breakdown of some of the main costs involved … 5G components were, of course, a significant element. The US models cost more, as they include mmWave 5G....

Last time we checked in, Tencent had reported four million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus unofficial reservations had been recorded. In an update today, the site now says that combined preorders (which began on Friday) from sales channels have exceeded 20 million. Via Digitimes, which originally found the post from Tencent: The report stated that pre-orders on website Jingdong Mall reached nearly 10 million over the period, which coupled with orders direct to major telecom providers and Apple pushed total orders to 20 million....

iPhone 6 will certainly remain in the memory of many Apple users as it was the company’s first smartphone with a considerably larger display than its predecessors. T-Mobile has reported that pre-orders for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have shattered sales records, with orders four times higher than the iPhone 6. Sprint is also reporting almost four times as many orders for the iPhone 7 this year, though its comparison was against the 6s … Sprint says that pre-orders are up more than 375% over three days when compared to last year’s numbers. Many had suspected that iPhone 7 sales might be disappointing given a similar design to the 6/6s, suspicions heightened by Apple’s announcement that it would not be revealing opening weekend sales figures....

Twelve days after Foxconn’s Shenzhen factory announced it had halted iPhone production due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the company says it has “basically” resumed normal operations in its campuses. Shenzhen was in a strict lockdown imposed by the local government following a new COVID-19 outbreak. Although this factory could impact not more than 10% of global iPhone production, according to an analyst, it’s good news that it’s back to normal....

We all know about the Call of Duty video game franchise for more than a decade and still counting. Now, the franchise comes with a new edition of the first-person shooter video game named Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Treyarch, Raven Software, and Activision have come up with this new 6th version of the Black Ops lineup that’s currently in Pre-Order + Open Beta Early Access mode at the time of writing this article....

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are now available to preorder from Apple’s Online Store and participating carriers in the twelve launch countries, priced from $199 through $499 on a typical 2 year contract. Last year, Apple sold ten million phones in opening weekend numbers and analysts expect similar results this time. Until the phones go out of stock, preorders made today should deliver on the 25th September when the phones officially go on sale....

Apple’s long-rumored low-cost iPhone is expected to enter production this month and be released in March. While we know quite a bit about the device, one big question remains: what will Apple name it? iPhone 9? iPhone SE 2? Something else? This entry-level iPhone is expected to feature a 4.7-inch display with a design nearly identical to the iPhone 8.
