During the Apple Watch event today, CEO Tim Cook announced that iOS 8.2 for iPhone and iPad will be available today. The update will include the dedicated Apple Watch app we previously reported. The Apple Watch app will be similar to both the App Store app and Tips app, featuring Apple Watch apps and how-to tutorials, while allowing you to manage the Apple Watch. The update also appears to include the new Fitness app which interfaces with the Apple Watch’s workout capabilities....

IOS devices provide larger storage space that could store emails, browsing histories, chat histories, Wi-Fi data and GPS data and more. From the forensics perspective, such devices could present lots of useful artifacts during the investigation. There are well-defined procedures to extract and analyze data from IOS devices which are included in this paper. This paper could be divided into the following sections. Researchers from Palo Alto Networks have discovered that a piece of iOS malware successfully stole more than 225,000 Apple IDs and passwords from jailbroken phones, using them to make purchases from the official App Store. The malware, dubbed KeyRaider, also has the ability to remotely lock jailbroken iOS devices in order to hold them to ransom. However, it’s extremely unlikely that you’re at risk: the malware can only run on jailbroken devices, and appears to spread through only one set of Cydia repositories, run by Weiphone....

Kantar data shows that the iPhone 6 Plus managed to take a 41% share of all US phablet sales for the August to October quarter, despite only being on sale for a little over one of those months and significant supply constraints. Unsurprisingly, the smaller iPhone 6 also outsold the iPhone 5s in the same period, taking 33% of all iOS device sales against 26% for the 5s, 18% for the 5c and 10% for the 6 Plus....

For the last five days, I’ve been testing the iPad Air, replacing my iPad Pro – which is normally within arms reach at all times – with the new Air. Outside of display differences (both in size and quality), I haven’t missed my iPad Pro one bit. And heck, I imagine with another week of use, I won’t even miss my Pro’s 12.9-inch screen. My experience with the iPad Air has been everything I figured it would be with strong performance and long battery life....

In Summary The iPad Air (5th generation) is the first in the iPad Air series to come with Apple’s M1 chip, similar to the one seen on the MacBook Air and Pro series. At its price of Rs 54,900, the iPad Air 5 is easily the most affordable device with the M1 processor. Its combination of processing power and performance makes us think that this iPad Air could well be the equivalent of the affordable MacBook Air of yesteryears....

In a left-field rumor, EverythingApplePro is reporting that Chinese accessory manufacturers believe that the iPhone 12 will include an intriguing new set of internal magnets. The iPad Pro is packed full of magnets that aids attachment of the Magic Keyboard. For the iPhone 12, the utility is not immediately clear. We learned in June that Apple suppliers in China were having to increase bonuses to help them recruit enough iPhone 13 workers, and a new report today says that they are still struggling to do so. While a previous Macotakara report suggested that the iPhone 7 would be available in a deep blue color, replacing Space Gray, the blog is now suggesting that this is not the case. This tallies with something heard from one of our own sources … I have heard another information that space grey would not be disconnected, but would be possibly updated to much darker color. Also, the new color would not be deep blue, but possibly formal black which is close to black....
