After being announced at the “Peek Performance” event on Tuesday, the iPad Air 5 is now available for pre-order with prices starting at $599. Shoppers can choose either 64GB or 256GB of storage and the option to have Wi-Fi and 5G Cellular or Wi-Fi only. ABI Research is out with its latest report of the top 20 smartphone models sold worldwide with the 16GB iPhone 5s taking the top spot for Q1 2014. Apple and Samsung dominate the majority of the top spots, which is no surprise to anyone following smartphone marketshare numbers. All of the top 5 that ABI shared in its press release are made up of Apple and Samsung devices with variants of the Galaxy S4, S3, and the 8GB iPhone 4 following behind the iPhone 5s....

The purported iPhone 5 case that gained popularity over the last few days has been removed from trading site Alibaba. The case obviously brought a large amount of attention to its manufacter so we don’t think the case was removed by choice. Prior to the iPad 2’s official announcement in March, many iPad 2 cases found on Alibaba revealed key features like its thinner design and FaceTime video cameras. Those iPad 2 cases ended up being removed from Alibaba with the help of Apple’s legal team....

For those unfamiliar, Bancomat (an Italian company) and Bancontact (from Belgium) are interbank networks similar to Mastercard and Visa. Right now, cards issued by these networks are not compatible with Apple Pay, but it seems that this is about to change. Internal codes from iOS 15.5 beta 2 reveal that Apple is working with both networks to make their cards compatible with Apple Pay, which is Apple’s digital payments platform. It’s unclear when exactly support for these cards will be announced to the public, but we assume it will happen sometime after the release of iOS 15....

Those were the words of a senior executive from a brand that had just launched a gaming phone, a device that is becoming slightly more popular in the smartphone market than it was a few years ago. There are at least three manufacturers in India that have released gaming phones – Asus, Nubia and Black Shark.
